Mixer Taps

A mixer tap gives you one combined flow of both hot and cold water from one shared spout. Monobloc versions, for sinks with one hole, might have one lever serving the function of two taps. Other versions have separate controls and need a sink with two or more holes. Sometimes there is also a flexible and possibly pull out spray rinse extension, or even additional controls (Tri-flow, with 3 taps for example) for filtered and/or pre-heated steaming hot water supply: these deliver instant boiling water on tap for tea etc!). Generally, kitchen mixer taps are manual, eg one or more taps (levers, crosshead, whatever the design happens to be) that you move in order to control flow and mix. Also available are thermostatic mixers that automatically adjust the hot and cold supply so these are mixed to and maintained at a chosen temperature. Thermostatic mixers can also protect users from being scalded by sudden changes in the building's hot water supply. On your-store.co.uk you will be more likely to find thermostatic mixers for the bathroom, where temperature control and safety are more desirable, necessary even. Thermostatic controls are commonly found in showers, but increasingly some customers also want this level of control and safety from the taps in their kitchen sinks and bathroom basins.
